Enabling Conditions for Student Ownership and Self-Determined Learning 

In this webinar, Professor Yong Zhao will discuss the enabling conditions that allow students to develop ownership of their learning and exercise their rights of self-determination. The discussion will center around curriculum, school administration and management, school culture, and school environments. He will emphasize the key concept of flexibility.

Teaching Strategies for Student Ownership and Self-Determined Learning

In this webinar, Professor Yong Zhao discusses strategies that teachers can use to enable student ownership of learning. The discussion will also touch upon learning activities that allow student to practice self-determination. Professor Zhao will present an 8 step framework for product-oriented teaching.

In this webinar, Professor Yong Zhao continues the discussion about enabling student ownership of learning and practice self-determined learning. In particular, he will discuss changes needed for assessment. He will also discuss how technology can be used to support student ownership of learning.

Workshop Leader

Yong Zhao is a Foundation Distinguished Professor in the School of Education at the University of Kansas and a professor in Educational Leadership at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education in Australia. 

He has been recognized as one of the most influential education scholars. His works focus on the implications of globalization and technology on education.
