Target Audience
This workshop is designed for language teachers of all levels and grade levels in international schools. Attendees will benefit from immediate and practical strategies to enhance language teaching and learning using AI technologies.
Overview
This workshop aims to empower language educators from international schools in South East Asia with the knowledge and practical skills to effectively integrate AI technologies, particularly ChatGPT, into their language teaching practices.
By exploring advanced techniques, visual language resource creation, and other AI tools, participants will gain immediate implementable strategies to enhance their language lessons and create engaging activities.
Objectives

Introduce language teachers to the capabilities of ChatGPT and other AI tools for language resource creation.

Provide hands-on practice in using ChatGPT to generate customized lesson plans, assessments, and interactive activities.

Explore visual language resource creation using ChatGPT with tools like Google My Maps, draw.io, and Google Slides.

Discover other AI tools that can enhance language lessons, such as Adobe Express Animate from Audio, Autodraw, and more.

Workshop Facilitator
Joe Dale is an independent languages consultant from the UK who works with a range of organisations such as Network for Languages, ALL, The British Council, the BBC, Skype, Microsoft and The Guardian. He was host of the TES MFL forum for six years, former SSAT Languages Lead Practitioner, a regular conference speaker and recognised expert on technology and language learning.
He recently organised and co-hosted a 10 part series of webinars Saturday Tech-Talk in collaboration with the British Council in Indonesia and iTELL and worked on the Nusantara Go project for the British Council in Indonesia and PearTree Languages in 2022.
He also worked on the Supporting Schools Reform in Algeria project through the British Council 2019-2020. He was recently described in a Guardian article as an 'MFL guru' and 'the man behind the #mfltwitterati.'.

If you cancel the workshop will I get a refund?
We will refund the full workshop fee only. Transportation and accommodation will not be refunded. Do not book your accommodation and transport until you get a final email of confirmation from us.
If I cannot make it to the workshop after registering and paying for it, will you offer a refund?
Given the logistics involved we will not be able to offer a refund, but you can transfer your registration to somebody else.
Do you offer Continuing Education Credits?
No.
Will I get a certificate of participation?
Yes.
