Instructional and Tech Coaches will benefit by getting a variety of ideas to share with the teachers they coach when it comes to AI in the classroom.
Background
Artificial Intelligence has taken the world by storm in the last few months. It's not going anywhere and it's only getting better.
As educators, we HAVE to understand these new technologies in order to leverage them in our classrooms and teach students how to utilize and interact with them.
This technology is the future and we'd be doing our students a disservice if we don't teach them about it.
Aim
Participants will learn:
-
How to use strategic prompts in ChatGPT to develop high-quality lesson plans in lesson time
-
Different AI tools to use in the classroom (writing tools, video tools, audio tools, image tools, etc).
-
Ways to incorporate ChatGPT into your lessons with your students in a thoughtful and meaningful way
Topics Covered
-
ChatGPT
-
Essential Questions
-
5E's lesson plan
-
Canva, Descript
-
Adobe Podcast
Methodology Used
Thom will model a 5E's lesson plan and allow time for teachers to play with ChatGPT themselves to build out their own lesson plan using some of the provided prompts.
He will share several AI tools & ideas and give teachers the choice to explore a particular tool or plan out how to implement one of the lessons in the coming week, all while being able to ask for support during the workshop.
The goal is for attendees to get a chance to get their hands on the AI tools during the workshop and ask questions of their peers in small breakout room groups or of the workshop facilitator.
Implementable Skills
By the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with the following:
-
Using ChatGPT to develop lesson plans

Finding the right AI tools for the task you have
-
Learning a variety of ways ChatGPT can be utilized in the classroom with students
